Study on the Relationship between the Lactobacillus Count and the Caries Extent


Abstract
The autkor observed the relationship between the lactobacilli counts and the caries extent for children and pupils from the age of 4 to 15.
The following conclusions were obtained:
1. Among whole cases of 63, the carious individuals were 32 and the rest were caries free individuals.
2. The average count of lactobacillus per milli-liter of saliva showed about 88, CCO for carious individuals and 1,460 for caries free individuals.
3. The average of lactobacilli in the carious individuals was very higher than that of the caries free individuals.
4. Author observed 84.2% of 19 subjects with rampant caries, having indices over 10, CCO tit 93.6% of 31 caries free individuals having indices below 10, 000.
